Kim Chia

Kim performs due diligence on existing and prospective fund managers, conducts thesis-building, sector and portfolio-specific analysis, and monitors venture industry trends, deals, and happenings.

Prior to joining Next Legacy in 2022, Kim worked at Portola Partners, a wealth management firm based in Menlo Park. Kim led the expansion of the firm's impact, ESG, and philanthropic initiatives while guiding UHNW families, foundations, and endowments through market fluctuations, transition periods, and complex financial decisions. Working across asset classes in service of her clients' objectives, Kim conducted due diligence on both private equity and venture funds while continuously researching and stress-testing the firm's preferred public equity vehicles.

Kim graduated from Columbia University with a B.S in Chemical Engineering with an Earth & Environmental Engineering minor. Passionate about giving back to the community, Kim enjoys volunteering at her local food pantry, furthering diversity in venture through Gen Z VC, and participating in AFOCA, a weekly peer-led food drive for the homeless community. Outside of work, you can find her avoiding hills on a run, snowboarding, or taste-testing her way through San Francisco's bakeries and coffee shops.
